1. jenis pump
terdapat perbezaan antara pump manual atau pump yg baterry operated dgn double electric pump. Bagi ibu2 yg ingin melakukan sesi pumping yg kerap, adalah lebih wajar jika menggunakan hospital grade pump.
Double pump banyak membantu dimana ia bukan shj mengurangkan masa pumping, ia juga meningkatkan tahap prolactin yg mana membolehkan penghasilan lebih banyak susu dlm masa yg singkat.
2. Kerapkan pumping session
it is to stimulate the milk production. more frequent, it will be more stimulated.. the ideal stimulation is 8 times within 24 hours..ini termasuk stimulation through direct feeding. kalu dicongak, 5 kali direct feeding dirumah plus 3 kali pumping session di office.
Pumping for ten minutes three times a day will do more to build the supply than pumping for twenty minutes twice a day.
3. Relax
this happen to me alot.. there's always tendency utk tgk byk mana susu dah kuar... kalu nampak skit, then mula la gelabah..Putting this kind of pressure on yourself only makes you tense and keeps your milk from letting down fully. take a break.. jika anda pump utk beberapa minit tapi takde let down, stop pumping. Relax.. Trust me...it does works!! Try stretching, deep breathing, getting a drink of water, massaging your breast, listening to soft music, or anything at all that helps you relax. Then try pumping again. Kalu duduk berjam2 tp takde let down tak de gunanya.. It's very important to try to relax, and breaking the pumping session up into smaller increments may help accomplish this.
4. Emptied the breast after feeding or Double pump with your baby
Pump after feedings for five minutes, or on the other side when your baby takes one breast at a feedings (your supply will be more plentiful in the mornings)
5. Minum banyak air & makan makanan yg berkhasiat.
tak semestinya minum bergelen2..janji anda tidak dahaga.. drinking before feeding or pumping does helps.. makanan yg berkhasiat amat penting coz it will be transfered to your baby.. tak semestinya makan banyak...tapi makanan yg seimbang.. cuba perhatikan pemakanan anda..apa yg anda makan yg boleh meningkatkan milk supply.. different people reacts differently to different food..
6. Amik supplement yg boleh increase milk supply
banyak tumbuhan herba dan sayuran yg boleh membantu meningkatkan milk supply seperti halba (fenugreek), jintan putih (cumin), pegaga, kaduk, longan kering, lobak putih,jantung pisang, pucuk betik dan banyak lagi.. tapi tak semestinya semua makanan ini memberikan kesan yg sama kepada semua orang. Ada ibu yg react to certain food ada yg tak...semuanya perlu try & error
